My name is Kari, and I grew up in Northern Minnesota. My maternal grandmother, Thora, was born in Oslo, Norway. As a child, I spent a lot of time in Scandinavia visiting family and friends and later studied Scandinavian Studies and Nordic Art History as a university student in Uppsala, Sweden. I am an artist, teacher, mother, and have loved cats my entire life. My family and I – husband and 2 daughters ages 14 and 16 (both of whom have been drivers in embracing showing and caring for our cats) – had a small TICA/CFA registered cattery in the beautiful foothills of Colorado, USA, breeding Norwegian Forest Cats exclusively. I speak Swedish and some Norwegian.
We visited Scandinavia periodically and had established partnerships with several catteries to allow us to offer NFC lovers here in the USA kittens that provided tremendous genetic diversity and sweet dispositions.
I have completed the Pawpeds International G1 Course for breeders and cat owners. All of our Norwegian Forest Kittens were born and raised in our cozy home – this makes our kittens secure and social, which were our main goals. For us, the cats are firstly family members. Secondly for show and breeding.
Our Norwegian Forest Cats enjoy a secure outdoor space safe from predators and street dangers but free to experience the sounds of birds and play in the powdery Rocky Mountain snow showers, a natural habitat for these northerners!
